How do I get newspaper ink fingerprints off of my painted woodwork?

We store the used newspaper in an entry hall closet and fingerprints have accumulated on the woodwork and door (husband’s fault- he can’t seem to use the knob to close the door!)

If the paint has any gloss to it, WD-40 will remove the ink.
